Rex is my "Home." This weekend, I read an interview of Katharine McPhee where she said regarding her husband: "We’re not super-mushy people. I love verbal romanticism, like, “I can’t wait to take you home tonight.” Sexy things. But you’re always more romantic in the beginning of a relationship. I mean, who really does that after being married awhile?" Oh how sad! Really? Seriously, she needs to listen to her song.
In light of Valentine's Day next week, I wish people understood that romance isn't some automatic mystical thing; you make it, you maintain it, you keep it and enjoy it as long as you want. Invest in your Home and it will be an even more romantic place than it was when you first found it. I know I'm a lucky girl to be married to a man who actively keeps the fire alive in our marriage. My sweetheart tells me he loves me so many times a day in so many ways. Home is a place you will always belong, and he is it.
