Thanksgiving gone, Christmas on its way

What a nice change it was to feel like Thanksgiving was a holiday! I have struggled every year to make it special and have always felt like I failed. But because Rex's parents and brother (Bradley) came to visit, it certainly felt like the family holiday it's supposed to be! Thank you so much guys!!!

The kids were thrilled to see their grandparents and surprised us all by warming up to them immediately. And, like all the Roberts siblings, Bradley was wonderful with his neice and nephews! Megan sat on their laps and cuddled and listened as they read her book after book. James, the never ending ball of energy, loved that were able to go on walks and play at parks, and go see the Lights in Chickasha, because the weather was so nice.

The kids soon felt so at home with Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Bradley that they stopped putting on their best behavior and returned to their normal selves, complete with tantrums and whining. But they were still really well-behaved compared to how they normally are. After all, they had playmates come to visit! (Megan has asked for Grandma a couple times, but they both understand that their guests had to go back home. It was especially sad for James, but he handled it very well.)

We had a delicious turkey feast and were able to bring out the leaves for our semi-new table to accommodate 3 more adults. The turkey hadn't even been put on the table before I pulled out the Christmas decorations. Decorations are the kids' favorite part of any holiday, I think. And no one is more pleased than James about it. The kids have been singing Jingle Bells lately. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Especially with an ice storm coming in the next couple days. :(

Isaac started walking a few days before family arrived and we all enjoyed watching the proud, wobbly little tyke practice using his new-found legs. It won't be long before he's running now! He so wants to play alongside his siblings!

(Don't you love Megan's pigtails? She hates for me to wet her hair so it ends up all floppy-like. Rex calls her Cindy-Lou-Who - kinda looks like her, doesn't it?)
