James wins a trophy

James loves the thrill of riding his bike. He constantly begs me to go out front so he can ride up and down our cul-de-sac so I take him out most days after he's done with his homework. Ironically, the kids his age on our block who like to ride their battery operated cars (which my kids covet), have all drug out their own bikes with training wheels. Unfortunately, these kids only come out to play after 7pm so when they are riding around after dark, James stares out his window and moans about how he wants to ride his bike with them.

He learned how to ride his bike just in time for the school's Bike Rodeo. They had an obstacle course and some competitions. James won a third place trophy for his grade level. He proudly totes that trophy around the house.

Way to go James! It is starting to get to be bike weather up here and I'm looking forward to pulling my bike out. I'm next to lots of trails, so hopefully Shane & I can go exploring on our bikes.
That's great that James inspired a 'movement' back to actual bike riding versus 'driving'.

I'm so impressed that he's riding his bike sans training wheels! I barely got Kolbi doing that and sometimes I think Jonah is light years away! Way to go James!
