Zoning in on the 1% (the good things of motherhood):
Megan is usually mean to Isaac and scolds him or steals things from him and covets what he has. But every once in a while, she’s really nice to him and will freely offer to share with him and even occasionally initiate play with him like chase. One day at Speech, Isaac was on one side of the room and Megan on the other with a bunch of people standing and gabbing in the middle. I didn’t realize that the reason Isaac was just standing there was that he felt too intimidated to cross through the people. Apparently, Megan sensed his nervousness and went to him amid all those people and escorted him through to the toys, nudging him a little in the back, saying “come on Isaac.” I was so impressed with her empathy; I didn’t think she had it within her!
