We got the final say on Rex's request for a transfer. They said no, it was too late. He would just have to do the best he could, but they assured him they are aware of the obstacles he is facing. It wouldn't suprise us if OU decided to put the Noble School District on their Do-Not-Use list after the experience of several of the interns (although Rex's situation is by FAR the worst).
We apprecaite all your prayers on his behalf. His goal is to undo some of the damage his mentor teacher has done to these kids and teach them that they are smart and good kids. He wants his kids to show all the other classes that they are not the laughing stock of the school by winning the "traveling trophy" for best behaved. If anyone can do it, they picked the right man for the job.

I wanted to email and find out what had happened with Rex's student teaching situation, and then realized I could probably find out by checking the blog--and there it was!
I'm sorry (in one sense) that he wasn't able to be transfered, but in another sense, what a blessing to these children to finally have a teacher that really cares about them! We will keep praying that Rex (and you) can Rise up to the challenges and opportunities placed before you. If he can handle this teaching situation, he will be far better prepared for the "Real life" of teaching in any other situation. Blessings in disguise!
