Trisha Came to Visit

During the weekend that Rex was unable to come home from Houston, and Rex's parents were out of town, my dear friend Trisha from grade school made a detour on her road trip to come see me. It was so fun to talk and catch up with her. And she was amazing with the kids. So much so that, when she left, Megan said she missed her and Isaac asked when she was going to come back for another visit. [I'm excited for her to have gotten hired on as part of the film crew for the CW's Vampire Diaries!]

While visiting San Antonio, I took her down to the Riverwalk where we went to the Rain Forest Cafe. It reminded me of the Tiki Room at Disneyland or the Mayan Restaurant that used to be in Sandy, UT. Every inch of the place was decorated in the Rain Forest Theme, from the walls to the ceiling and even fish tanks and mid-room islands. The various animals moved every 15 minutes or so, like a much cooler Chuck-E-Cheese, and there was a simulated thunderstorm every 30 minutes. I loved it! And so did the kids! (Quite expensive though, but the kids enjoyed the chicken tenders they ate off my plate.) Isaac kept asking when we could go back, so I told him we'd go at Christmas when the Riverwalk would be all lit up for the holidays. We also walked through the Alamo.
