Windows

My birthday/Christmas/anniversary present: a window in the kitchen. Among the many stupid things about this house's layout is that there was no window in the kitchen and thus there was no way to see the yard without going outside.  I finally took down the hideous curtains I'd made before from the door and made matching curtains for these.  I am again surprised and disgusted about the price of window treatments and/or fabric.  The trim itself (12 yards) would have cost $100 if I didn't have a 50% off coupon. 

Now the only thing missing is the extended counter top with cabinets underneath, and bar stools.
