On Monday, James excitedly showed us his wiggly tooth.
On Tuesday, he ironically had a dentist appointment so he got to show the dentist his loose tooth too. He was very brave as they cleaned his teeth, even if they had to brush them with a regular toothbrush rather than the noisy electric spinning brush.
On Wednesday, when I picked him up from school, he showed me he lost his tooth and the office gave him a little treasure box to put it in along with a packet of toothpaste, toothbrush, and chart.
So we put the tooth under his pillow and the Tooth Fairy came and took it in exchange for a quarter. James and Megan only get a quarter for their allowance so he wasn't disappointed, but Rex told me that many of the kids in his second grade class get $20 for a tooth (even though most of the kids are poor)!
James is so proud that he's been telling everybody he sees. I can't believe how excited I was myself! After all, it's just a tooth. But it's not every day a child loses his first tooth!
