Race on Down to Isaac's 3rd Birthday Party!

I made such a cute invitation, but I can't reproduce it on here. Sorry. It looked like a ticket to see Lightning McQueen at the race track.
I made race cars for cakes, Lightning McQueen and Sally, but I was embarrassed at how it turned out. Fortunately, the kids thought they were awesome and I got compliments from the adults (how gracious!)
I decorated with blue streamers and red balloons and put up a giant happy birthday cellophane "room setter" with McQueen, Mater, and Sally. I only got it because I planned on putting it in Isaac's room afterwards, but it looked kind of lame in his room all crinkly and it came off the wall a couple times in the middle of the night, so we took it down. But it was great while it lasted and the kids were in awe of its size.
But we also gave him other things for his birthday to complete his Cars Room. We bought him Cars bedding (found a twin mattress/boxspring for $10 at a garage sale earlier that week), and two cars posters. I had already painted his room blue, made Cars curtains, and put up a Cars border which he loved.
Isaac was thrilled with ALL his presents, and he loves to wear his new clothes, even donning the Cars slippers when it's still shorts-weather. He was basking in HIS party, and he is still beaming a few days later. He'd been asking for months when it was his turn for a birthday party; he'd been talking about a Cars party in particular because Megan's was a princess party and James' was a space party, so naturally, he'd get a Cars party. I think the long wait was worth it to him. I loved (and am still enjoying) seeing how much he loved(s) his Cars birthday.
The only game I had them play was Red Light, Green Light. I think ALL the kids are a bit too young for any games so I only attempted the one, mostly for the oldest ones. They liked the running part. The kids all had a great time and I'm relieved it's over so I can concentrate on planning Christmas before the rush begins....
To all the Voglers: once again, thanks a million for coming and making my kid's birthday so special.
