Belated 10-year Anniversary Gift
You know that Christmas was tight this year and we didn't really give each other much for our anniversary. When Rex's unemployment money finally came, he was able to buy me what he'd planned on getting me for our 10-year anniversary. When we were only married for about 2 years or so, I lost my wedding ring. While Rex was going to college, it wasn't practical to get me a nice replacement, so I bought a ten-dollar ring until it got so tarnished, he bought me a $100-Walmart band. I refused to let him spend any more. Even now, it was extremely hard for me to allow him to spend the money, but I underestimated how much they cost, and I swallowed my pride and practicality, and let him spoil me. Isn't it beautiful? And since it's inlaid, the diamond won't fall out and the prongs won't break like my first one. After all, a girl like me has hands that are useful, not dainty.
