Wildseed Farms: Flowers

It's true that Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, TX is not as spectacular as The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, CA, but you can't expect anything to beat California. So this is the next best thing. It was a gorgeous day and the kids were as good as kids get. Our trip to Fredericksburg was almost as nice as it would have been if we'd been able to go just the two-of-us. (Except that Fredericksburg is a quaint little German town with lots of German restaurants and interesting museums, but kids require McDonalds and are bored with museums and shops.) Even the drive was scenic, with firewheels, golden waves, bluebonnets, and Indian paintbrushes all along the highways.

Click on this one to see it enlarged; James and Megan ran through the maze and into each other's arms.

While I'm not a big poppy fan, I can't resist the California state flower.

I allowed a picture of me as an excuse for capturing my favorite flower: daisies.

Isaac among bluebonnets.

Bluebonnets: the Texas state flower. They are everywhere!
