Garden Beginnings

These are the first pictures of our freshly planted garden (in March). I now know how early I can plant each vegetable and have done so accordingly. I plan to follow up with pictures of more mature plants later. Wish me luck in the war against bugs this year! (After losing the battle to aphids last year, I am not even going to attempt cucumbers and cantaloupe.) Sorry that the plants are hard to find in the pictures, but they are really small right now.

Grape Tomatoes (with Beats between the trellises)
Note: my regular tomatoes were a bit behind so I hadn't transplanted them yet

Strawberries (every bearing rather than June bearing)

Potatoes

Blackberry Bush (it didn't like the heat of direct sun so I dug it up and have it in a pot until I can transplant it somewhere with more shade)

Note: the electric company killed some of my plants when they chopped down our neighbors' branches and trees away from the power lines and landed in our yard. Thus we no longer have a raspberry bush (which didn't like the heat from direct sun either), and a few other flowering plants as well.

Peas (with Beats in between the trellises)

Onions

Carrots and Green Beans

Corn

Peppers and Jalapenos
